Our recent 2nd Veriest #meetup in Budapest was a big success! This event was hosted by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and around 50 people from different companies in the Hungarian eco-system along with faculty staff and students attended.
The faculty dean Prof. Hassan Charaf opened the event by saying that while software meetups are common, he is glad to open this hardware-based meetup and is looking forward to hosting many more such events in the future. This was followed by Prof. András Poppe, head of the Electronic Devices Department, who added that having HW meetups at the university can positively influence students’ choice of a hardware field of study. The event was also attended by Veriest’s CEO, Moshe Zalcberg.
Tivadar Mako (Veriest) explained how Formal Verification can be used as a powerful technique and why it became his professional passion. Gabor Marek (indie semiconductor) spoke about the challenges and joys of being an #Analog designer. Finally, Veriest’s Péter Sági moderated a very engaging panel about the relationship between the university and industry, with representatives from the faculty and other companies in the Hungarian ecosystem: Gergely Kiss (arm), Tamás Marozsák (indie semiconductor), Péter Horváth (BME/EET), Tamás Kovácsházy (BME/MIT).
The attendants then continued discussing – while enjoying pizza & drinks – for a long time after the session ended!
Thank you all for making this an important milestone for the Hungarian #semiconductor community!
Looking forward to seeing you at our next events!
